Mary Darke

Managing Director

Mary is a senior executive search leader specialising in Human Resources and C-suite leadership appointments into listed, PE backed and multinational companies. She is responsible for delivering searches across Australia and leading strategic mandates throughout APAC region. She works closely with Boards, CEOs, Investors and CHROs to identify and appoint leaders who shape people and culture agendas aligned to long-term business strategy.

Mary’s approach to executive search is grounded in a strong belief that exceptional leadership is a critical driver of organisational performance, transformation and sustainable value creation. Throughout her career, she has built deep relationships across the global HR community, enabling her to bring insight, judgement and perspective to complex leadership appointments. Her work spans multiple industries and ownership structures, including listed organisations, privately owned businesses and PE/VC-backed environments, with a consistent focus on cultural alignment, leadership impact and future capability.

Mary spends her time in Singapore, Hong Kong and along the Australian eastern seaboard and is regularly meeting with leaders all over the world to bring a genuinely global perspective to HR leadership and talent markets. Since joining ChapmanCG, she has played a key role in strengthening the firm’s presence and reputation as a trusted adviser to senior leaders worldwide.

In addition to leading search assignments, she contributes to ChapmanCG’s thought leadership and community engagement. Her academic background includes studies in behavioural science and criminology, alongside postgraduate qualifications in HR, executive coaching and leadership, which underpin her interest in human behaviour, decision-making and leadership effectiveness.
