Mayu Isoi

Senior Director

Mayu Isoi is a Senior Director based in Tokyo, with over 14 years of experience advising multinational and Japanese organisations on leadership hiring, organisational design, and long-term talent strategy.

Before joining ChapmanCG, Mayu spent was at Robert Walters Japan, where she was appointed Director and led the firm’s Human Resources, Legal, and Office Support recruitment practices. In this role, she built and led cross-functional teams of up to approximately 30 professionals, including an award-winning HR team, managed multiple P&L portfolios, and partnered closely with senior executives to deliver complex leadership and executive search mandates across a broad range of industries. Alongside her commercial responsibilities, she also served as a board member of the firm’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, contributing to firm-wide initiatives.

Earlier in her career, Mayu worked in institutional investor sales at Morgan Stanley and private equity firm Partners Group. She holds an MBA in Finance from Hitotsubashi University Graduate School of International Corporate Strategy and has professional experience working in Switzerland, as well as academic experience in the UK.

Mayu values long-term, trusted relationships with both clients and candidates and is an active member of the Japan HR community, regularly supporting and participating in HR industry events and networking forums. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, yoga, hiking, and spending time with her family in the forests of Nagano.
