Meet the Team

Adrian Alcazar is an Associate Director at ChapmanCG, based in Tokyo. With more than a decade of experience across corporate Human Resources and executive search, and fifteen years living and working in Japan, he partners with multinational and Japanese organisations on senior leadership appointments across Japan and the wider Asia Pacific region.

Adrian brings particular expertise in Legal and Compliance, alongside Human Resources and broader corporate functions. His work spans both international and domestic organisations, combining executive search with a strong understanding of the Japanese talent market, organisational dynamics, and the considerations involved in appointing senior leaders across diverse cultures and operating environments.

Before moving into executive search, Adrian spent eight years in Human Resources and General Affairs at the Daiwa House group. Working closely with senior business leaders, his experience included a nationwide transformation of the performance appraisal framework, post-acquisition restructuring, international hiring, and the development of new approaches to working practices and diversity. This first-hand corporate experience gives him a practical understanding of the internal dynamics behind leadership decisions and the impact a senior appointment needs to deliver beyond the initial hire.

Originally from Barcelona, Adrian works fluently in Japanese and English and is a native Spanish and Catalan speaker. His ability to operate comfortably across Japanese and international business environments enables him to bridge different perspectives and build trusted, long-term relationships with clients and candidates.

Adrian is known for a considered, relationship-led approach that combines local market knowledge with an international perspective. He focuses on understanding both the immediate leadership requirement and the broader organisational context, helping clients identify executives who can make a lasting contribution to their business.

Outside of work, he plays golf, stays active through sport, and enjoys time by the sea with his wife and their dog, as well as barbecuing with friends.
