Senior HR Business Partner, New York (US)
Completed
The Company
We are representing a leading multinational professional services organization with a strong global presence. With operations spanning hundreds of locations worldwide, the company has built a reputation for delivering integrated solutions that combine investment, advisory, and operational expertise. The organization is undergoing a period of transformation and growth, strengthening its U.S. platform and expanding into new markets. Its global reputation is underpinned by a commitment to sustainability, innovation, and long-term value creation. With a forward-looking strategy and a focus on developing people and communities, the company is positioned as a trusted partner to clients, stakeholders, and employees worldwide.
The Role
The Senior HR Business Partner will play a central role in shaping the people agenda for the company’s U.S. operations. Based in New York, this position reports to the VP of HR, embedding you directly into local strategy. The scope of responsibility spans the full spectrum of HR leadership. This includes talent acquisition and retention, leadership and capability development, employee engagement, performance management, and ensuring compliance with U.S. labor laws and employment practices. Beyond core HR, the role also carries responsibility for office administration and IT operations, providing an expansive and strategic platform to influence the future of the business. You will develop country plans and ensure they are aligned with global objectives. This is an individual contributor role with a hybrid schedule (three days in-office, two days remote) that requires strong leadership presence and the ability to balance strategic priorities with operational excellence.
The Individual
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on HR leader with at least a decade of progressive experience, ideally within a U.S.-headquartered multinational or similarly complex, global environment. They will combine the ability to serve as a strategic business partner with a hands-on approach to driving HR operations and execution. A solid grounding in U.S. labor laws and employment practices—including payroll, benefits, and compliance—is essential, along with confidence in leveraging HRIS systems and data to inform decision-making. Given the company’s global scope, this individual must be adept at operating in a global matrixed structure working with peers around the world. They will bring proven capability in influencing senior stakeholders, shaping organizational culture, and leading businesses through change. Above all, this leader should demonstrate a forward-thinking mindset, a collaborative style, and the resilience to thrive in a dynamic, growth-oriented international business.
Potential Upsides
A broad end-to-end HR remit with a lot of visibility locally and globally. A great opportunity to influence senior leadership.
Potential Challenges
This is a hands-on, individual contributor role. This is not suited to someone who wants to preside over a team at this stage of their career.
