Senior Director HR, United States, Puerto Rico (US)
Upcoming
The Company
We are representing a leading global life sciences organization with a significant and long-established manufacturing presence in Puerto Rico. The operation is highly complex, technically sophisticated and an important part of the company's global network. The organization is entering an important period of evolution, with a broader transformation agenda and several leadership transitions creating an opportunity to shape the site's future. The culture is collaborative, community-oriented and strongly focused on developing talent while delivering in a highly regulated environment.
The Role
This is the senior-most HR leadership role for a large, complex manufacturing operation in Puerto Rico. Reporting to a global Manufacturing HR leader, with close partnership to senior site leadership, the role will shape the people, talent and organizational agenda through a period of meaningful transformation. The mandate goes well beyond operational HR. The successful leader will act as a strategic advisor and catalyst for change, strengthening leadership capability, workforce planning, culture and organizational effectiveness while translating global priorities into sustainable local action. The role leads an experienced HR team and broader HR ecosystem and requires significant influence across business leaders, specialist HR teams and global stakeholders. It also carries meaningful external visibility within the Puerto Rico business and professional community.
The Individual
We are seeking a seasoned, transformation-oriented HR leader with strong executive presence and experience operating in complex manufacturing or similarly demanding environments. The individual should bring a global or multi-regional perspective, mature stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence across organizational boundaries. Experience in life sciences, biopharma or another highly regulated manufacturing environment would be advantageous, but is not essential. More important is demonstrated leadership through complexity, transformation and organizational change, together with the ability to operate at multiple altitudes; from advising senior executives to engaging credibly with the realities of a large operating site. The successful individual will combine confidence with humility, challenge constructively, develop strong teams and respect established institutional knowledge while introducing fresh thinking. Spanish is a significant asset, though not mandatory. Prior Puerto Rico experience is advantageous but not required; relocation will be considered.
Potential Upsides
A highly visible opportunity to lead the people agenda for a strategically important and complex manufacturing operation. The role offers significant exposure to senior business and global HR leadership, the ability to shape a major transformation agenda, and the opportunity to develop an experienced team and future leadership pipeline. The organization also offers a strong mission-led culture, meaningful global career exposure and relocation support where applicable.
Potential Challenges
This is a demanding leadership role in a sophisticated operating environment with multiple stakeholders and significant organizational complexity. Success will require a leader who can balance enterprise perspective with hands-on site credibility, influence without relying solely on formal authority, and drive change while respecting a deeply established culture and experienced workforce. The role also requires a genuine commitment to living and working in Puerto Rico and engaging meaningfully with the local community.
