Global Talent & Organisation Head, Shanghai (CN)
Shortlisting
The Company
Our client is one of the emerging giants in the life sciences sector, a publicly listed group with a rapidly growing global footprint. Known for its fast-moving and innovative approach, the company combines strong growth momentum with international reach, making it a dynamic and exciting environment for ambitious talent.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of HR, the Global Talent & Organisation Head will play a critical role in enabling the company's next phase of growth and globalisation. The position is responsible for shaping enterprise-wide talent and organisational strategies that directly support business priorities, organisational scalability, and leadership capability. This is not a traditional, academically-oriented Talent Management or Organisation Development role. Rather, the it will bring a highly business-centric mindset, translating business strategy into practical talent and organisational solutions that drive measurable impact. Working closely with senior leadership, the role will oversee areas including talent strategy, leadership development, succession planning, organisational effectiveness, workforce planning, and organisation transformation across the global business.
The Individual
We are looking for a seasoned, high-calibre HR leader with a solid foundation in best-in-class HR practices. The ideal candidate has seen what world-class talent and organisation strategies look like and knows what works at the highest level. At the same time, they are highly practical, agile, and business-focused—able to translate theory into action, navigate complex realities, and deliver results that truly move the business forward.
Potential Upsides
Be ready to roll your sleeves up — this is a company that has strong entrepreneurial roots and culture, offering the chance to design and shape the talent strategy while also owning the execution. The remit is broad and varied, spanning everything from OD and change management to leadership development, so this role will certainly give you plenty of variety.
Potential Challenges
You must be comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. As this is a growing HR function, the role will require a hands-on approach, meaning you will need to be both strategic and willing to dive into operational details when needed.
