TA CoE & HR PMO Lead, Shanghai (CN)

Shortlisting

The Company

Our client is a highly respected global industry leader with a significant footprint across China and broader international markets. The company enjoys a strong track record of profitable growth, commands substantial market share within its category, and is widely recognised for its operational excellence. In today's challenging business environment, the organisation has demonstrated exceptional resilience, remaining agile and well-positioned for continued growth.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of HR, this is a highly strategic leadership role responsible for shaping the organisation's talent acquisition agenda and broader HR transformation initiatives. Beyond leading executive hiring and critical talent acquisition activities, the position oversees the development and execution of recruitment strategies, talent attraction frameworks, employer branding initiatives, recruitment processes, systems, and governance. The objective is to build a scalable, efficient, and future-ready talent acquisition function that supports the organisation's growth ambitions. In addition, the role serves as a key Project Management Office (PMO) lead for HR transformation initiatives, partnering closely with HR and business leaders to drive organisational change, enhance people processes, and ensure successful implementation of strategic HR priorities.

The Individual

The ideal candidate is a high-potential, commercially savvy Talent Acquisition professional with strong strategic thinking capabilities. They can quickly understand business priorities, diagnose what is most critical for talent acquisition, and translate insights into actionable recruitment strategies. This role requires someone who can influence stakeholders at all levels, communicate effectively, and build strong partnerships across HR and the business. While not a large-scale leadership role, the position offers exposure to strategic TA initiatives and HR transformation projects, providing a platform for accelerated career growth.

Potential Upsides

This is an opportunity for emerging TA leaders to gain great exposure to senior leadership populations and a solid opportunity to make an impact at this level, with the chance to design and shape the talent strategy while also owning the execution.

Potential Challenges

This is a highly matrixed organisation that will demand strong stakeholder management skills, as you will need to influence across functions. It is also a fast-paced HR function, where priorities can shift quickly and ambiguity is common. This environment may not be suited to everyone, so candidates should be adaptable, resilient, and comfortable working without perfect structure.
