Country HR Director, Tokyo (JP)

Globally renowned high-profile Life Sciences business is driving growth in the Japan market. Known for strong leadership and innovation this business is mid-sized and based in Tokyo with a sales network across Japan.

This position demands a leader of HR to command the team and coach the business on best is class HR practices and work within a heavily matrixed model and global environment. The expectation will also be to visit the sales offices from time to time to ensure people matters are attended to; hiring, compensation and performance matters will be the focus.

Preference is for someone with 10+ years of experience with some pharma, medical device or manufacturing industry knowledge. Strong communication is needed to influence the local leadership but to also drive visibility of Japan HR initiatives to other HR leaders in the region or global operations.

The new ownership may pose a variety of issues; turnover and need for skills assessment of current talents but if successful it is a good HR career building experience.
