The Company

Our client is an international technology and game development studio focused on creating high-quality interactive entertainment for a global audience. With headquarters in Asia and a growing international footprint, the organisation combines creative vision, technical expertise, and cross-cultural collaboration to deliver innovative gaming experiences across multiple markets. As part of its continued international expansion, the company is establishing its European presence, with Malta serving as an important operational hub. The organisation is focused on building a scalable and compliant local platform that supports international talent mobility, strong operational foundations, and effective collaboration across regions. To support this growth, the company is now seeking an HR & Office Manager to be based in Malta.

The Role

Reporting to the Global Head of HR, the HR & Office Manager will play a pivotal role in establishing and managing the company’s people and operational infrastructure in Malta. This position combines strategic oversight with hands-on execution, supporting the setup of the local entity, office operations, and end-to-end HR processes while ensuring alignment with global policies and standards. Acting as the key HR and operations lead locally, the individual will oversee recruitment, onboarding, compensation and benefits, employee relations, and vendor management. The role will also coordinate closely with international stakeholders, including global HR, legal advisors, and external partners, to ensure compliance with local regulations while supporting the company’s broader international workforce strategy. In addition, the role will support talent acquisition and mobility across the European region, including assisting with immigration, relocation, and integration of international hires. While primarily focused on the Malta operation, the role may also involve occasional travel to Amsterdam as the organisation establishes its Netherlands presence and strengthens cross-country collaboration in the European market.

The Individual

You will bring strong HR and people operations experience, ideally gained in international technology or high-growth environments where building local operations within a global organisation is required. Prior experience working within the Maltese market is essential, including a solid understanding of local employment regulations, administrative requirements, and the practical realities of hiring and supporting international talent in Malta. You combine operational expertise with the ability to operate in an entrepreneurial and fast-evolving environment. Comfortable building processes and structures from the ground up, you are able to balance global expectations with local market requirements while ensuring compliance with Maltese labour regulations and employment practices. Strong stakeholder management skills will enable you to work effectively across cultures and geographies, acting as a bridge between local operations and global leadership teams. Resilient and adaptable, you are comfortable navigating ambiguity, managing competing priorities, and supporting organisational growth in a dynamic international setting.

Potential Upsides

A unique opportunity to play a central role in establishing and shaping the organisation’s European operations from the ground up. The role offers strong exposure to international stakeholders while building and leading HR and office operations in a growing market.
