This is a complex, global role with a broad remit and an opportunity to make a real impact as a Talent leader. It is also a potential successor role to the Chief People Officer.
Potential Challenges
Although this role leads a team, it is a hands-on “do-er” position requiring a leader who has a bias for action. You must be comfortable getting into the weeds and being on top of how and where time should be spent by each team member. This would not be a good role for someone who wants to preside over a large team and delegate heavily.
