The Company

This company is a publicly traded global manufacturing organization with revenues in excess of $5 billion. They are very much in growth mode with a particular focus on emerging markets. With headquarters on the east coast, and a presence in many major hubs in the USA, they are going through a period of transformation resulting in the creation of this new role.

The Role

Reporting to the CFO, the SVP & Chief Accounting officer will lead an international team of over 200. This person will be responsible for the global accounting function including the controller organization, internal controls, and financial reporting. As part of the organization wide transformation the Chief Accounting Officer will focus on driving efficiencies through process improvement and the adoption of new technologies, including AI. In addition, they will lead the Shared Services function ensuring processes support expansion into new market. They will partner with the Tax function to ensure compliance with all federal and international tax laws, as well was working closely with Treasury and FP&A to ensure accurate reporting across the finance function.

The Individual

A Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting US CPA certification is required. Ideally candidates will have started their career in Big 4 accounting before moving into a corporate role and will have held leadership roles in a public company with a global footprint. Experience implementing a new ERP system, along with change management experience, is required. A strong leader who likes to mentor and develop a diverse global team and experience leading a Shared Services function is preferred.
