Japan Director of HR (622/TCCG)

Location: Japan
Type: Permanent
Posted: 17.08.10

The Company

We are working with a niche industrial company to pipeline plan for their new HR Director in Japan. The company has a long history in Japan, and works closely with a local Joint Venture partner to service its clientele across Japan. With a local population size of 300, and a strong and mature leadership team, the company is ripe for a new HR Director to bring in a new lease of life into its HR and talent strategy.

The Role

This role will have a direct reporting line into the Regional Head of HR based at the company’s Asia Pacific Headquarters, and will liaise closely with the shared services team at a local, regional and global level. The role will encompass all facets of an HR leadership role, but will focus largely on the area of talent development, skills enhancement and leadership training.

The Individual

After many years of stability, the company is making some recent changes that will start to ‘rock the boat’ in terms of the status quo in Japan. So the HR leader needs to be someone who can work within the realms of ambiguity and can be a force for positive change. You will need to have exemplary communication skills in English and Japanese, and be able to build credibility with your team and with a complicated set of local and regional stakeholders.
