Regional Head of Training, Japan & Korea (566/TCCG)

Location: Japan
Type: Permanent
Posted: 30.08.10

The Company

This company is one of the world’s best known hotel brands, with operations across the global and a very large footprint in Japan and the rest of Asia. With the company’s sub-regional headquarters based in Tokyo, they are well placed to continue rapid growth in the geographies of Japan, Korea, Guam, and in other parts of Micronesia.

The Role

Due to an internal career move, the company is looking for a replacement head of training and development for its regional operations. Looking after a number of properties in Japan and Korea, you will oversee all aspects of the company’s development programmes, from the rolling out of global programmes to on-site facilitation to the creation of bespoke materials and programmes. You will report into the sub-regional HR Head, but will have a great deal of interaction with global headquarters in the US and regional headquarters in Singapore.

The Individual

You will be an expert in Learning and Development, and will be well-versed in dealing with the expectations of both global and Japanese management teams. Experience in the hospitality industry is not essential, however if that is the case then you will need to exhibit a degree of flexibility to be able to adapt to a new environment. Most of your time will be spent on Japan-specific work, but you need to liaise with counterparts across the world and will have oversight of some of the hotel’s other properties in the region outside of the country.
