I've just changed HR jobs and I'm three months in. I think I've made a mistake with this move but is it too early to move on?
Answer:
It is fair to say that most people know within their first three months as to whether they have made the right or wrong decision. Sometimes against our better judgment, we choose to ignore the signs that things are going wrong. Other times, we deliberately put them to the back of our mind, and adopt a positive attitude. Its best to have an open discussion with your HR boss if the job is not panning out as expected. Have this discussion before things get really bad, as there may be time to rectify the issues. Talk through your ideas on fixing the problems with your boss. Agree to catch up on a monthly basis to check whether the role is improving. If the role hasn't improved beyond six months, you may need to make the hard call - ‘is this worth it?'
