How are Compensation & Benefits jobs picking up in the banking sector in Singapore and Hong Kong? Are you seeing many?
Answer:
We have seen an explosion in Compensation & Benefits positions in Singapore and Hong Kong since late 2009 across all industries. The Banking sector, in terms of overall HR hiring, has picked up sharply since the beginning of 2010. We are not necessarily seeing the demand in C&B jobs increasing in the banking and financial services sector like other sectors though. The only reason we can think is that perhaps the banks didn’t drop Compensation folks like they did certain other HR talent (particularly Learning & Development specialists and Recruiters) during the downturn.
