When giving referees, who is best?
Answer:
We suggest to provide referees who can comment accurately on your performance. The best ones will be your current or previous HR bosses, along with any business stakeholders you have directly supported. Sometimes a team member who reports to you may be useful. The current organisation you are working for may be off limits: if you fear a future move being leaked to your current bosses, then choose wisely. Someone who has left your current organisation is often best. Whatever you decide, think about who your referees will be before being asked for them by a headhunter or your new company.
