If there are any difference at all, I would say that because retail is such as service-driven industry, it is very much a 'people business', so the HR leader needs to ensure that business decisions need to be as people-centric as possible. The quest for good talent, talent development and talent retention are a constant theme for all HR leaders, and retail is no exception. It is always a challenge to attract good talent into the industry, and therefore considerable effort has to be spent on employer brand-building.
