- I am not looking for a steep trajectory in my HR career. How do I get this point across?
- Answer:
Not everyone is ambitous in their HR careers, not everyone wants to make it to the absolute top. And on a similar note, not every company is looking for a HR practitioner who is going to be happy one minute and then after a promotion the next. It's important to be diplomatic when making the point that you are not necessary looking for a career plan which is going to keep on taking you up. Perhaps convey it this way - "I'm driven by the content of my role and the difference I can make to the business and my team, as opposed to continually moving through different roles". Or you could say "Owing to my family being settled in Singapore relocation is not something that appeals, so I'm looking for a role I can stay in for a long time".
