VIEWER QUESTION – I notice that you are hiring for an Employee Relations APAC lead. Do you tend to see many of these roles, and what sort of people do you look for with a search like this?
Answer:
We are currently assisting a major multinational with the search for their Employee Relations APAC lead and this is indeed an uncommon search. The organisation has research, sales and manufacturing facilities in Asia, and it is mainly the large manufacturing population that this role will focus on. Typically, Employee Relations or Industrial Relations roles are more likely to be restricted to organisations in Asia that have large numbers of unionised and blue-collar employees. For this search we are interested in candidates performing an existing Employee Relations role with an FMCG, Industrial or Life Sciences company. Alternatively, the person could be an HR Generalist but with a large element of employee relations or industrial relations exposure.
