VIEWER QUESTION - Are you seeing a growth in the number in the number and types of HR interim management positions across the region during this period of downturn?
Answer:
Yes we are, since many organisations are resisting the addition of permanent headcount due to continued limited confidence in the short to medium term economic outlook. Employing HR Interim Management contractors is a good way to get around headcount restrictions and to ‘buy time’ until conditions improve. We are seeing more such positions particularly in Singapore and Hong Kong, where we believe the short-term employment concept is starting to achieve more recognition. The trend is not exactly catching on in other parts, and traditionally Asia has embraced permanent employment almost exclusively.
