Dubai

- HR in the Middle East is largely a domain for expatriate talent, with most practitioners hired from either Europe or India to inject international experience into the region. As the region’s largest business centre, most key HR roles are located in Dubai, but multinationals are also locating operations in Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman and Kuwait. The most senior roles in Dubai cover the whole Middle East region, with some also responsible for Africa. However only a handful of HR Directors look after Asia.
- Due to the current pace of development in the Middle East, most HR roles in Dubai contain a large element of Recruitment and Greenfield HR set-up work. Expatriate Management skills are arguably more relevant here than anywhere else in world. Oil & Gas and related industries have a large footprint in the region, but growth is also coming from the services sectors, especially in Banking and Business Consulting.
