Thailand

Thailand has seen rapid economic development in the past ten years and most multinational corporations now have a presence there. Key industry sectors remain FMCG, Hospitality, Advertising & Media, as well as Manufacturing.
The sophistication of Thai HR has improved dramatically in recent years, with English communication skills also becoming more the 'norm' rather than the exception. Thailand has now emerged as the sub-regional HR headquarters in many companies for the 'Indochina' countries of Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam. Occasionally it has also been chosen as the Asia Pacific HR headquarters of some multinationals, however the regional HR leadership position tends to be filled by an expatriate.
Thailand is a popular location for international HR talent from outside the Asia Pacific Japan region, and a growing number can be found in HR Consulting firms, recruitment companies and also occasionally in internal HR roles with multinational companies that do not require English language skills.
