Hospitality & Leisure

With tourism, leisure and related industries undergoing an unprecedented period of growth across the region in recent years, more HR roles are appearing in hotels, airlines, restaurant chains, casino groups and other leisure-based companies around the Asia Pacific Japan.

While many of the best HR talent in hospitality originally transitioned within the sector from non-HR roles earlier in their career, an increasing number of HR leaders are being recruited from outside, including from more prominent multinationals in Technology, FMCG and even Banking. These HR leaders are bringing leading HR practices from other industries into the Hospitality and Leisure sector.

This rapid growth in the developing Asian markets has been stretching hospitality HR leaders and Recruitment heads, and many have until recently been focusing on the task of meeting massive hiring targets and ensuring that new hires are quickly trained. HR has needed to invest heavily in Organisational Development measures to retain key staff, as well as Expatriate Management practices to ensure smooth international moves.
